After swimbo and no3 child kept complaining of feeling sea sick during a recent visit to our Gaff in North Wales I replaced all the suspension struts with OEM ones from Advanced Factors to be honest I can’t feel much difference and the ones I replaced I Only fitted 5 years and 50k ago they may be going up for sale now 😎 it’s sorted the complaints now as swimbo paid for the new struts so being stubborn wont say anything about the ride not being better 😂 no use trying to explain that car was near its 3.5t limit with us five a big dog and all our luggage on tight twisty welsh roads it was always going to wallow 😂😂😂Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8 what a car

Hi furnitureman
Sounds like a good trip, just a thought about wallowing I’ve loaded mine up with 5 people & most of our camping gear & cant say I feel mine doing this, have a look when your driving on twisty roads at the 4X4 screen you should see how suspension is behaving it should smooth out the ride as they have self levelling suspension, mine is quite obvious, only just recently had the b s to push it a bit on country roads & it is quite obvious on the screen.
Yesterday & Sunday, stripped out front brake pads & regreased as had a bit of squealing Then yesterday adjusted epb shoes, coming up for dreaded MOT so had a look around underneath while I had wheels off.
Going to finish of instal of dash cam with hardwiring, get my front power socket back.

As the weather is pants today time for some updates using the IID tool and my new NOCO Genius 10 supply/charger
1. 3 flash indicators - complete
2. Bluetooth update - complete, no more of the 2121 pairing every time I switch off the ignition
3. Sat Nav on the Move - started and left updating whilst lunch is served
That will be all for the day when no.3 is complete

Mine went for its MOT on Tuesday & passed with only 3 advisories 2 were worn tyres but they have about 3 mm on inner shoulders so I will monitor & replace when needed, other one was leak from steering rack gaiter on inner, fixed this with cable tie so all ok now.
I will need to replace front lower wishbones soon & when I do I will replace rear tyres & get 4 wheel alignment done, but for the moment happy days.

Following a puncture and a seemingly successful repair today I discovered that all is not well with my sidewall!
Also fitted a TowSure towbar to replace the Whitter 'plough' that was on before

Treated my Grey bumpers and plastics to some t-cut bumper restorer today and WOW! look as good as new with one coat. Will drop a second coat on after the weekend, takes a while as you paint it on with a sponge the size of a 2p coin but what a result.
Took the below when I was half way round the car to give a before & after shot.
Don’t know why but all my photos are uploading upside down tonight, no matter which way up the start off 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Templated and fitted chequerplate to my bonnet. I think it looks good - understated but adds a purposeful look.

Carried on updating the look this week in between conference calls so today
De-tango’d the lights and well happy I did it, used a heat gun instead of the oven, meant I could put extra heat on the glue as it cooled
Painted all 3 wiper arms to get them back to black, tried painting the lettering but messed it up so new gloss black lettering being delivered tomorrow

First day of tinkering today. Changed the drivers door checkstrap as it was slightly worse for wear. Swapped the front seat pads over so that the wear is no longer the part that’s getting worn, and cleaned the engine bay.
Tow bar fit tomorrow and no doubt many more little jobs.

So, I think I’ve now finished the external refresh of my 2008 HSE and I’m loving it
New Grill, de-tango’d the headlights, sprayed the side vent and wiper arms matching land rover black and replaced bonnet lettering for gloss black
Stained the plastics all round in t-cut black, taken off the heavy fixed tow bar, swapped rear lettering to match the front and of course added the disco3.co.uk sticker
Very happy with the look now. Once my 4 year old goes back to school this week I’ll take a couple Of days off and start using the new jack and stands that arrived this weekend to start looking around underneath for any rust etc as well as check the sumps and stuff are up to date versions and all good 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

I towed for the first time ( in my D3).
I until recently had a TD5. I was never overly impressed with its towing capabilities to be honest. Complete opposite opinion today in my new to me D3. Very happy. Really stable, more power than I needed and quiet!

I finally swapped out the small turbo hose. What a job... I think it’s easier to negotiate a trade agreement...
I didn’t get rid of the chirpy chaffinches sadly but the car feels like it has 20pc more power. It feels like it’s been chipped by comparison! The old pipe did have a small hole through it at the narrow end where the jubilee clip goes.
I need to turn my attention to accessible gaskets next like EGR and down-pipe to see if I can get rid of the birdsong when the car is on boost.
