Hi all! New to me discovery 06my 3 2.7TDV6 @160,000 miles.
Turned out the service history that came with the car didn't add up... No way this car had it's first oil change at 11,000 miles when it was 6 years old... None of it lines up with milage on MOT History.
So working through maintenance jobs so I know what has been done.
Engine flush, changed oil and all filters: Oil, fuel and air. Changed front diff oil, looked like it had never been changed and stank. Spotted a leak on the autobox, looks like it's been done / had a fluid change at some point as the sump has heat dissipation fins on it but a poor fitting gasket which is leaking. Added some Dr Tranny as torque converter was slipping and revs were bouncing, solved for now but thinking that transmission fluid could be low so have added that to the list along with, rear diff now that I know it's a non locker, transfer box, oil pump, timing belts front and rear, water pump and aux belts oh and electrical park break doesn't work so need to look at that too as well is add resistors to the rear d4 lights and replace the flickering led bulbs in the cabin overhead lights and then rebuffing / treating the leather seats.
Should keep me busy after reading all the great advice and tips on here over the last couple of weeks as well as the horror stories of broken oil pumps and cracked / snapped cranks 🙈.

Another year over and another MOT
On Saturday the D3 went in for the dreaded MOT
She passed with one advisory - Front NSF CV boot
Also got the air con re gassed
She has covered 199200 miles so far
On Sunday I did a 620 mile round trip averaging approx. 32 -34mpg @ 70 mph on the motorway
Today the D3 went in for a new VC boot and an engine oil / filter change
Happy days

Re: What did you do in your Disco3 today?

Today, I got up early, and drove from home in Stockport to Whitley Bay in Tyne & Wear. Did a bit of work there, then continued up through Coldstream to Edinburgh, where I am now.
The weather has been bad, with much flooding this afternoon/evening coming up through the borders. Car was perfect for the job. The only thing of note was that I was very glad to find a petrol station, the miles left was down to 55 and we all know that means about 10!
What did you do today - Discuss Here 8)
Nice Trip!

The second link was specially for you would recommend you have a pair of slider grips when putting the lights back together to keep even pressureI want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Gave mine a new smile today
Before
After
And swapped all of the badges and wheel centres for the silver/black.
Too nervous to detango the lights
My Autel AP200 code reader arrived today also, so will be playing with that tomorrow, got the eml on, suspecting EGRs so will be able to see hopefully.2008 HSE Stornoway Grey
