I dub thee the Pink Panzer, errrrr, Panther.
In other news yes Jaguar is truly copying nothing but the name which has been understood to reperesent a certain design pattern. So they are attempting to establish what is essentially a new EV brand at a premium in a market which has not been kind to that strategy. It's an attempt to sell fewer vehicles and sell them at a high price to generate bigger profits, and this has never worked. Heck Tavaras just got fired/resigned from Stellantis because he went for higher prices and profits and now nobody can afford to buy a $60K Wrangler. I worked for a corporation that attempted this strategy in the office equipment world and what happened was that we ceded the lower end to other companies that then stole our customer base.

I'm gonna dare to be different, I really like it. I realise that I'm never going to own one unless I win the lottery.
In terms of the controversial advertising campaign, its made the headlines here in NZ, the opposite side of the world to the UK, so its raised the profile of the marque globally.

Yep, I like it too.
It's a really nice mix of Art deco, Tron, and Jules Verne.
Perhaps something Cord would be building now had they survived.Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

But it is exactly what JLR have done with LR - they have pushed the entire range more upmarket in terms of price. But they also did it by moving towards ever greater perceived luxury. And it's worked for them - the FFRR, Defender and RRS account for over half their sales and all are "premium" in their pricing. That they've also managed to increases numbers sold is impressive - they've cleared much of a 200,000 unit backlog (caused by the chip shortage, they say).Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

You just know that "call me Gerry" is going to double-down on the design choices made for the D5. The D6 won't be a D3/4 replacement any more than the D5 was, sadly.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I don’t like it!!
That interior is not the kind of place I want to spend my time. It looks as though it’s deigned to be driverless.
Despite being light inside, it looks too claustrophobic for me. I don’t like small windows. And that huge bonnet!!! That car is going to seem far too big for our towns & cities.
If I were to win one in a competition, I’d sell it on forthwith.
Not a vehicle for me I’m afraid.I’m a Disco 4 believer. What a vehicle!

I don't think this is aimed at the likes of us anyway. It's aimed at a different market entirely and one that is on various foreign shores.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Can't see that car 'as is' ever getting launched;
- frontal crash impact zone/pedestrian safety
- zero front suspension travel
- tiny glasshouse area way too small - pure styling exercise
- oversized barge for a two seater
Actual production vehicle will be four door, smaller, 3-box saloon in a 'traditional' sense with a few unique design cues. Will be, as many Jag 'mainstream' cars are, very good but everyone will buy a German equivalent as they always have done or, more likely, in Lux EV only models, some top-tech, cheap(er) Chinese model with a silly name as they'll likely have mopped up global sales by time Jag' gets out the blocks......

You'll not get as far as the speed-bump, the front spoiler will ground on it before the wheels even get there! Previously:

So, driving exeperience is irrelevant, the cornerstone of owning a Jaguar today.
At 11:45, two fingers up to 80% of existing Jaguar owners.
Perhaps the long bonnet is to stow the exclusive jaGUar luggage in, a "frunk"
If we swap over driving SWMBO will slip across inside while I go around outside, like to see anyone achieve that with the beam along the middle. Same with both rear passengers trying to get out on the pavement side.A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.
