I think your attitude stinks...I sold a headunit in here to a fellow member for less than I paid for it. I ended a sale on ebay to do it. So I had to pay ebay for the non sale and then you want me to give a donation to the site...I believe I did my bit on the site by selling to a fellow member at a better price than he could have got anywhere.. Correct.....I put item on ebay then got a pm from a member on this site...I sold for less than I bought the item as I stated and gave the member my original receipt with item as it had a warranty.. So my view is that I did my bit.
Maybe im a bit touchy here but it smacks of some bully boy full of his own self importance. TDv6 S 7 seat

And if you'd spent the time to read the thread you see that I am not being a 'bully boy' just highlighting the fact that some take advantage of this place when selling and don't even have the decency to say thanks.
You made a choice to sell at what you did. No one made you.
And selling second hand goods for less than you paid for it it kind of the norm

TBH I cant be arsed anymore to try and drum up donations to help the site we ALL benefit from one way or another. Those who are decent will give and there will be those (obviously that have not decency) won't.

I dont see anywhere that says come to the forum and lose money, thats your own stupidity. if you wish to use the forum, sell it for what you want. the price being asked is your choice no one else but if you choose to sell here to a concentrated audience with virtually a gauranteed sale then you should give back a little, no ones asking for a limb FFS.

As for stupidity..your probably right...but im not like that..I thought I was doing a fellow member a turn...you in turn would have sold to him for profit am i right? At £250 I think I did the buyer a great deal, but hey I am probably wrong again.

Sorry guys but I signed up for this site to share information and ideas with Fellow D3 owners. Not to have to read people abusing others because of their opinions. I think that if there is an issue with funding of the site that the owner should comment not the members.
I appreciate that people want to ensure this site is maintained in the manner to which we have become accustomed but please refrain from such personal abuse. 1993 Defender 110 300tdi - many mods

you probably did do the fellow member a turn but where does that leave the site and yes I would have sold for profit. if I were to sell on here to aid fellow members as you and other like nodosh claim then I would have set a price which would advantage (or at least not disadvantage ) myself, the potential other member and the site. not hard to set a price and add a couple of bucks is it. people want to sell something for profit or to be shot of it so come to the logical place (this site) as they know they can offload it. and you are allowed to use the quote button, works quite well and no I will not charge you for that info.

it still is a free country at least on this side of the globe and why shouldnt the members comment on a site that they feel is theirs to. might not actually own it nor do we own Land Rover but we have every right to defend it. at the top right of the post is a button that says stop watching this topic

Have to say I am not liking the tone this is taking at all. I think it is getting way out of hand. A polite notice reminding people to donate is all that is required. This childish quoting of posts is a waste of time and doesn't reflect well on the forum.
If I was looking for the first time at this site, this would put me off joining. This forum came across as a friendly bunch which is why I joined, but this doesn't show that.
I suggest it is stoppped now and the topic locked.
