Ok, Ok,I'm guilty your honour, but not had the money in for the wheels/tyres as the syndicate is just getting their act together and yes, when they pay me, I will donate to you!!
Whilst I support the many comments of a few, I equally feel that by selling at a knockdown price to other d3 owners, I am infact doing them a favour and upholding the community spirit to which this site is about. Given the value of such items outside of this forum, should it not be that the buyer makes a contribution in such cases?
I feel morally oblidged, ney, pleased to sell to another d3 owner and help someone out however, I also feel that some members attempts to persuade/bully another into making a donation when not such stipulation or notice has been posted, a bit rich!
As I faced a similar dilema in the creation of another e-commerce business venture (work stil in progress), we hit upon the ideal solution to your problems:
CREDITS
What happens is simple, via your forum programmers, you can bolt on a system via the shop thread, that allows forum members to buy "credits" which then will allow them to sell on the site. These credits, say 10 fro £5.00, will then be used to offset against any item listed, so use 2 for an item under x amount of value, 8 for the lsiting of a vehicle..... the choice is yours, make up what you wish.
Having purchased the credits, either prior to or as part of the listing process, the member has automatically made his/her donation, without feeling under attack from other more sensitive members.
This gives an level playing field, resolves the issue of some people paying sod all to list their vehicle or the same amount as someone who lists a smaller valued item
I hope this advise helps those reading this rather long thread and please dont shoot the messenger

And selling second hand goods for less than you paid for it it kind of the norm
And what if you're an Antique Dealer, then buying something and selling for a profit is the norm.

Without wishing to be contraversial, i have been off the site for a few days and just read a post that has for the first time on here frankly got right out of hand and has turned into dictatorised drivel.
If you want to make a donation...great...also if you dont, also great...its a FORUM!
Bit tired and grumpy so my partning statement is FFS people get a effing life.
Can we talk about something more interesting now?
As a footnote...why doesnt everyone buy a D3 sticker?, maybe a T shirt etc ....4k users at a few quid would surely be a decent sized donation?
Now all go off and get laid and come back with something cheerfull to talk about "you cannot teach stupid people to do clever things"

I think you'll find that is what I said.
Dictatorial... I think not.
And yes its got out of hand.
And yes I'll shut the Frack up about it.
And if anyone doesn't feel the need then don't donate.
Its not my forum but have been here long enough to care about it.
THE END.

Been busy away from home... and as it appears to have worked out, worked in your home town for a day last week.

I missed this thread over the weekend, and having read it all I have the following points to make:
- A massive thank you to all those who do donate - you're great
- This thread was a "heads up"/gentle reminder rather than a dictation - it should have been treated as such and discussed properly
- Personal attacks will not be tolerated on DISCO3. Those of you know who you are - consider this a warning
- I can't make anyone donate, but please consider making a donation if you sell through the site as it couldn't be here without them
- Contributing to the site includes using the shop - get a sticker or two, a polo shirt or a couple of keyrings. It all helps
- There seem to be some who are quite rattled at the thought of making a donation towards the upkeep of the site, which is very surprising
On another point: character - you seem to be very confused as to the ownership of the DISCO3 site? 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!
