Yes, I would a sum so, it has stop/start.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Hi Gary

Technically, you need a JLR 5005 spec oil, which is the same as 934B, but as not all of the 934B oils are JLR 5005 approved, while under warranty, it's best to go for one of the 5005 oils.

Many thanks for the swift advice. Much appreciated.

I also noticed you have already managed to get your website corrected regarding the second Millers oil not being the right spec (Good spot Dean !).

Hello

My daughter has a mini cooper roadster 2013 Petrol. The handbook gives a number of BMW specs :- BMW Longlife-01, BMW Longlife-01 FE and BMW Longlife-04. The dealership recommend 0W-30 oil in longlife oil by Shell or Castrol and as I am only topping up I want to ensure I use one of these.

Could you advise oil required?

Many thanks in advance.

I used Shell Helix Ultra Professional AF 5W-30 on my D3 V8. I would imagine it’s a bit colder here (more like New England, lowest temperature this year was -18 F) than NC in the winter. We don’t get too many 90 F days in the summer, either.

Do remember to change your oil filter at the same time. Thumbs Up

And welcome Smile

Thanks. I’ve only put a few hundred miles on it since I’ve had it but going to do a oil change and all filters for price of mind.
I also have some steering issues to deal with but that’s another thread.

I'm not happy with engine oil after latest change (12.000km ago).
It was ok in winter but now with hot weather:
- the "dry running" sound of engine lasts bit longer than it used to
- it takes short time of stopped car to get "dry running" sound. In winter even after several hours engine was oiled (given the sound) immediately, now even after 1h there's short dry running sound after startup.

Which oil would you recommend for TDV6, 2008 (with DPF), 135.000km?
I'll be buying it in Austria (or online).
I change every 12.000km (with flushing every second change).

I searched your site, using the registration number of my MGB GT V8 and it came up with something similar:-

Make:Rover
Model:2200-3500
Year:1974
Type:3500
Engine:3528ccm 141HP 104KW (Petrol)
Variant:P6 [Saloon]

I guess it's OK to go with that selection for engine oil. Do I assume that generally you don't stock items for the MGA & MGB because of their age - quite understandable of course.
