D4 headlights to D3 straight plug in ?
I know i am going to be shot at, but well, let us say i am not the first one to fit D4 rear light to a D3 (which i haven't done btw)
Anyway can anyone tell me (ASAP ) if one can plug D4 Xenons (or halogens) to a D3 straight or with minimal wire mods or if it is a pain in the back
Alternative : buy D4 Halogens and mod the D3 Xenons with it

EDIT : this is while switching to a D4 front end, so i am just concerned about electric, not about fitting / compatibility with D4 bumper/front wings and suchl=Oo\________/oO=l l:Ool======loO:l

2010 RRS didn't change the actual physical size or exterior design of the headlamps - the D4 ones are completely different to the D3 ones....
D4 rear lights are a direct swap with D3 lamps (at least mechanically), but the front headlamps are different 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Hi VeryDisco,
I think that you'll find that the D4 lights are a different shape to the D3 ones, hence they won't sit properly in the aperture (likewise, the D4 front guards are different).
Otherwise, knock yourself out.

Don't know if this is of any use.
I had a D4 out last week whilst mine was in the dealer.
I faffed around with a spare D3 front grill and heres two of the pics I took.
D4 headlight from above [with fitted D3 grill - note top grill fixing points identical to D3]

D4 with D3 grill - note bonnet doesnt close right [grill top would need trimming somewhere] and bottom of grill doesn't sit in because of larger D4 ingress lights.

So basicaly if you have a spray paint can and a tube of glue you can fit a D4 gril inside a D3 one and make a D3 look like a D4

From memory, not only the grill, lights and bumper are different - also the wings are shorter.
I'll be able to tell you more end of January (hopefully) when my D4 arrives as I can compare directly to MrsH's D3 then. But is suspect you'll want to know before then.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

HI, again I only care about the connector/electric part of it
Someone willing to fit a proper D4 conversion should change : bumper, grill, headlights, wings, fitting and another few bits, then side trim and of course rear bumper and lights !
