DG, the reason I took offence is your comments about the club and the reasons for it's formation. I assumed that as I was in the club with others I must therefore fall into your explanation of why those people were in it. If I mistook your comments I apologies.
As the site only just went live, you had 48 hours to ask questions, so you did have the opportunity to ask Warren who explained it.
Anyway if we wish to continue this should we revert to PM as I am sure most people have no interest in our squabble.

I'll be courteous and reply to Andy. You have obviously read my post and answered the questions that I posed. To retort to your answers, Something for nothing. I do work for charity but I claim mileage so that I'm not out of pocket financially. Only my time is given and as I'm paid 24/7 I don't lose any money from lost earnings. I wouldn't do it if I was out of pocket. And I don't believe anyone else would either. If they do then they must be a a lot richer than me or stupid. In my opinion.
As for financial statements I'm glad that members can inspect the books so to speak. Will the committee be taking payments for tel calls, photocopying, printing etc? Or will all of that be part of the job of being on a committee? Not sure how long people will be prepared to give everything for no return. And believe me the warm fuzzy feeling of organising a day out don't pay the bills. Covering your expenses does!!
As for the club not being a secret. What utter tosh. Is Gordon Brown your spokesperson
It came to light with a post from Martin a couple of days ago. Then a link appeared but sent you to a holding page. With a launch date and time. Then someone posted another link that led you to a working forum. Some of the early posts were several weeks old. So although it wasn't hidden to the selct few it was to the majority of users here. The only precursor of something going down was the plethora of biscuit avatars. Obviously a clever idea thought up by the committee to be funny. Yeah like a hole in the head.
You say it's not a throw back to certain people being banned but looking at the majority of the main people involved it's a list of the people who shouted the loudest over people banning. Does that mean that banned people won't PM me again with regards to marketing the D3 rear store drawer I'm I designed and having made for me!! From a spurious user name on here whilst they were banned
I wish you all well in your new venture. But I don't think I'll be paying any money to you and your gang. I can think of better things to spend my hard earnt money on HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

There's no need to take it elsewhere....as I am not squabbling. I thank you for your apologies but wish to make it clear that I have not been contacted by Warren.
I did indicate in my most recent post that the views I gave were my personal views and not that of Martin or on behalf of his site.
I will again offer my best wishes to the club and hope that this is taken as intended. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

You're all twisting my melon, man
Peace and love, peace and love. And cider. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The reason I took 'pleasure' in posting the screen shots was to highlight the fact that this forum was used to promote a profit making event, for the financial benefit of not this but another site... and no one here was informed publicly.
Underhand in my book, unless you intend to contribute to disco3 for hosting the advertising for your launch 'event'.
Having another forum, club etc is not the issue here TBH.

That may well be true Iain. But, the wording by one of their erstwhile founders, leads me to think profit is the intention Else why not contribute here with their time and efforts for the benefit of an already gathered and listening group of people ?
But no, the Gariboldies seem it requires a paid for resource to do that...

If they are not for profit, What happens to funds then? Do they have to have a zero balance at year end? Are they allowed to hold a % of turnover as a working capitol? If at the end of the year they are in credit what happens to the profit so to speak. Do they have to re invest into the club. Fancy curtains for the club hut, better biscuits for the AGM or give to charity?
