Ok just to ask the question, does anyone else clean their MAF sensors too?
I do ours every so often with electrical contact cleaner.
Not really noticed any difference with the D3 but on 3 other cars I have had ( C class, XC90 and also my 57 plate Transit) it has made big differences

Sorry folks, I've read every post but still can't see the best way to clean the hole without something up later...D3 incl. genuine glass windscreen, front bi-focal headlights, full width rear bumper, self levelling washer bottle contents and audible 'tick tock' indicator stalk
911 GT3 had one [never]

I use electrical cleaner with the nozle tube on, short bursts and it breaks the gunge down
Just saw this for the first time today - took it off - outer parts full of crud - but the base (and hole) looked okay to me - cleaned it off with a paper towel and stuck it back on - will see on how it drives tomorrow.
Incidentally if it were nto for this site I would never be doing stuff like this - what to you lot is a trivial thing has led me to do this, change the alarm to horn, change air filters, fit side steps..... after years of NEVER doing anything myself to a car - where will it all end?

Thanks, but is that what us mere mortals call WD40?

Mac, On holiday so limited to iPhone & GPRS, also have to do holiday stuff like walk dogs & drive round island. Also major mid afternoon nap! At least that's my excuses.
