Looks very well . You'll soon be on the road again. If you are going to be towing heavy weight maybe see if the towbar recall is an option for you. Also loads of people on here about replacing the oil pump. Adding cruise control will only be a blink of an eye for you after what you've already done.

If I can find the letter from Landrover re the towbar I'll send it on to you tomorrow. Basically if your towbar is loose and or you are towing heavy loads they will replace it FOC.

Cheers Daftlad,
Had a quick scan of it there, by the looks of it, if they find play in the hitch and i tell them ill be using it for heavy towing regularly, they'll replace with a HD solid tow bar assy?
My worry is, if i dont have play in the hitch... do i have to wait for it to ware out a bit before they'll replace it? Concerns me as most of the towing i will be doing will be an ifor williams 16ft x 6.6ft trailer with this on it :O

Haven't had a chance to look for the letter. Landrover sent a reminder letter to me about 2months ago urging me to get it checked even though they replaced my removable one about 3 or 4 years ago. They are a lot better here in Ireland at replacing them than in the U.K. I had my crossmember replaced at the same time all free. They are advising the swan neck is only to be used for occasional light use. As yours is a commercial you shouldn't have much of a problem getting them to change it. I went to Johnston and Perrott in Cork, the only time i was ever there.

Yeah i get you, i suppose there is no harm in calling in and having a chat with them about it regardless, ill argue the case for the solid unit, hopefully it works!
LOL
it don't work like you think mate once they have checked it and they say its good , job done no comeback further down against JLR.
sheet added into the handbook at this point by JLR
You sign it off with them.
It has to be removed when not in use to stop any rust developing between the receiver and detachable tow ball according to JLR .
As that alone, JLR claim is the root cause of failures , rust flaking off and causing free play , we all know its not
been there with my Pops RRS , they stiffed him , long story not for here. Stratstone Doncaster
I sold my unused Detachable and bought the tow sure TL1 , solid , I cant be worrying about the caravan overtaking me on the motorway
Hope you get a result bud
