Bodsy, the guys and girls at Tedworth House would be over the moon with that outcome. Keen that everyone should be happy that all reasonable avenues to establish root cause on these pump failures should have been exhausted first though I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Bodsy, if this is looking like going nowhere, and the funds are going to a good cause,
Why not weigh in all the oil pumps and donate however much that amounts to,
To the running of the forum ?
Just my suggestion

I am happy to donate my bit ...
Just a thought though .......'Pete at Land Rover'
Could someone perhaps phone the guy and refer to the issue .....
Point out how many are involved and what the forum has done for HTH ....
Then also get some form of 'formal' route to this discuss the issue if it happens in future ....
i.e. step 1 - do this , step 2 - do that, step 3 etc etc .....
Resolution to a case failure ..... either positive or negative .... to be provided within x days
Similar to a tech bulletin type thing .... is that a reasonable thing to expect given the depth of interest in the issue D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.
D4 rear upgrade - Narpys helped with that bit
Flack for problem solving and D4 Bluetooth Install/ D4 Heated Steering wheel with Flappy paddles n BBS enabling kit
Disco Mikeys work - Serviced, EGR blanking and 4x4 software upgrade, 3 flash indicators.
B.A.S - FBHIC. Uncle Rays spare wheel protector. Beanie Silver Black badges.

Not been a member or owner for very long nor read the whole thread.
Has contacting VOSA with evidence and pushing for a recall action been tried or considered?

Don't think VOSA would help, it's not like the park brake issue.Bodsys Brake Bible
While I agree that I would not expect VOSA to get involved, having an engine fail on you is not the safest of situations is it?Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

VOSA intervened with VW when they had faulty Bosch injectors (an engine component) in the Passat. The engine management system immediately shut the engine down if the injectors failed which was not much fun if your were in the outside lane of motorway overtaking at 70mph. As far as I know they were no recorded accidents nevertheless after much tooing and froing VOSA made VW recall all the faulty cars..
