Well put her in the shed last night after taking the few pics and now that is where she will stay for 2 months till the end of July. Plenty of time to plan how to start in the body and what body shape to have now I have all this space
In Amsterdam airport at the moment and heading down to Cape Town to join my ship but don't worry Ieuan I will hopefully get some new pics up and added to this thread:

Hi Guys,
Still away and enjoying the sun down here in SA 8)
I have a question and need peoples expert opinions.
Do you think there would be any harm in chopping the from 200mm off the front of the draw bar??
Please excuse the horrible editing but hopefully you get the idea of the section I would like to shorten
As mentioned earlier in this thread I am wanting to take the nato ring off and fit a 50mm ball hitch. The hitch I have will work well with the brake system on the trailer but it is nowhere near as long as the nato hitch assembly. So I am thinking of shortening the draw bar so that the new hitch is closer to where the handbrake is. Will look a bit more like the wide tracks which have the shorter draw bar before the frame.
The length is not needed for reversing as I have already extended the chassis to increase the distance from the hitch to the wheels.
So do people think it would work and do you understand what an earth I am on about 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

Should be possible, cut the trailer and bold/weld the normal one on - can't see any reason why not.
Go for it
And at least I understand what you mean

Thanks Arlo, but what I want to do is move it back towards the body, from where your calipers are and then cut the excess off at the front as the narrow tracks have a really long draw bar IMO. Obviously it will be suitably reinforced and the new hitch bolted through and should still look 8)
Ye?
Sorry Igy as tempting as your bank manager voice is I need the cash for frame materials, windows and my 7 year service

Thinking ahead a bit here guys but what size leisure battery/batteries do people think I should put in the trailer?? 100? 115ah?
Also I am fitting a split charge system and using some Anderson connectors I assume if I go for a 115ah battery I would need the fuse just before the second battery to be suitable for that. E/g in the diagram below it has a 100A fuse before the trailer battery does that mean the trailer battery can only be max of 100amps? Sorry for my ignorance on the matter I am just a simple sailor
I plan to fit the national luna set up and have a second battery to go in the car as well as the deep cycle battery for the trailer as in the diagram below

Curious as to why you're fitting the National Luna? Its an expensive system and there are others out there that do the same thing at a fraction of the cost. I looked at the National Luna system and others and ended up putting a T-Max system in with an Odyssey battery in over 3 years ago and it has been brilliant and a doddle to fit. There are pics in my gallery.
One of the key things I liked about it was the battery monitor and being able to link the batteries with the press of a button.

Moo:
Mainly because as I am in SA the national Luna kit here is about 10 pounds more expensive than the T-max kit when converted, they are much much cheaper over here. National Luna kit is about 110 GBP.
Also as I understand it you can do the same with the National Luna as the T-max and the batteries are connected with the push of a button on the monitor display??? I have not 100% decided but I thought if I can get a more expensive kit for basically the same price it might be worth doing. If I went for the T-max I would still use the set up as above
So can I fit a larger trailer battery than 100ah and if so I will just put a larger fuse in to suit?? I am thinking of using 25m2 cable to charge the battery and I will then also possibly use the rear Anderson for the small winch on my plant trailer
I did look at your gallery Moo and if the national luna kit can not link both batteries as I thought then that will be the way to go 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

The fuse is there to protect the wiring as much (and if not more) than the battery, the fuse should only be rated to the capacity of the cable (or whatever it's supplying) a 100ah battery will supply 100 amps for 1 hour before it's flat or 50A for 2 hours etc. It isn't the maximum supply available from the battery.
hope that helps a bit

Tufty that does indeed help Think I am going to run 25m2 cable so that is more than enough and I can put the 100amp fuse in before the trailer battery 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,
