Agreed, I have been 100% wrong before, and I guess it could be possible that LR are going to huge lengths to disguise a split tailgate.
Seeing the recent photos from the streets of Leamington it's not going to be long until a photo captures a test D5 at close enough range to confirm one way or the other.
Very, very close to where I live I saw Discovery Sport camouflage test cars regularly for months before the launch, the same with Evoque convertibles, if A D5 turns up I will do my best to put the split tailgate question to bed!
The fact that the camouflage vinyl is continuous from the bottom of the tailgate up to the lower edge of the rear screen does give a very clear indication of what the layout is. Why not? I'm sure they could manage to test the tailgate elsewhere. Could easily be fitted with a different tailgate anyway and/or there could be the option of fixed or split.
Just because LR revealed the Epoke, a new vehicle, in such a way, I don't think that we can assume the D5 would be the same. I don't think it likely that they'll release what could so far be considered the most mundane vehicle yet (relatively speaking with the progression in mind) in such an underwhelming way. There's no way of knowing, but it seems more likely that LR have kept a surprise or two for the unveiling, and not just fancy gadgets.
If we only think something, we cannot know whether it is because it's accurate or just what LR want us to think, so it's certainty (i.e. based on a physical impossibility or necessity) or nothing. Maybe there's no tailgate and boot at all. Perhaps the high price some believe the D5 will cost is actually because it comes with a van included for all your luggage, stuff for the tip, etc. With no boot you'd get more legroom. Probably.

Is it me (probably) or does the activity platform (I'm sorry but what a stupid name) seem a bit dangerous if its moving out and you have a small child who is just about the same height as the platform?

The Metropolitan Police Service have published new guidelines for film companies who want to film out of moving vehicles. It’s something I’ve done quite often over the years, and the main reason Top Gear and other similar programs still use Disco’s.
