There's a Disco up in Perth (Western Australia, not Scotland!) with 19" ATRs fitted a couple of weeks back. Will see if I can suss out some info for you. I'd be keen to find out how he's traveling - might be heading down the same track with tyres shortly.

I'm from Perth and paid A$465.00 each for mine. It seems to me that the 19" ATR is quieter on highway than the 18" Continental CrossContact UHP which originally came with the car. I'd say the comfort level remains the same if not better than the Conti UHP; haven't got chance to take them offroad as yet but I'm now more confident to drive on sand or around construction sites. Thumbs Up

Just bought four Pirelli AT/R 255/60/18's. Let you know how I get on around the lanes in Oxfordshire and further afield soon. I also bought them to travel to the Alps in Winter once or twice a year.

I'm also looking at these tyres but in 19" - would be interested to know how you get on with them.

Purely in comparison to Continental contigrips on 17" rims, the AT/R's on 18" rims feel much more akin to a sports car, in terms of sharp response at the helm and high stability in straight ahead tracking, the overall effect giving more comfort and ease and relaxation, although small bumps on cambered country roads send a slight patter through the steering wheel, dare I say, almost, a nice Land Rover effect (I've said it !). Moving off from standstill, steering feels weightier, but if anything lightens moreso at reasonable speed (than contis). Quietness is truly astonishing in comparison to contis. They seem technically a very advanced product, give a highly sensitised 'feel' to the driver, and reward with considerably more than their price would indicate. They are the first Pirelli product I have put my faith in for around 30 years, so all round I am very chuffed to have bought them .

I cannot honestly be helpful in giving a price guide, suffice to say check with any supplier they know what they are doing. Mine went on with quite a 'pop' when they 'beaded', so they need all the TLC on fitting. My fitter also checks the threads have copperease on them, before installing wheels back on car. Sorry that's all I can write.

I fitted a set of 4 ATR'S from Ken last week/ excellent value.

On road handling at sub motorway speeds appears to be a big improvement over zero's. The D3 feels more stable and instiils a lot more confidence on bendy country roads.

Took the new tyres green lanning at the weekend with no issues - not great in gloopy mud, but then they wouldn't be...

Hopefully masses more tread life than std road tyres as well.

Yes go see Ken. I didn't in the end as one was shot and I needed it sorted with SWMBO and first born in the car so stuck scorpions on from local discount place, but if you can get to Ken its worth the trip, price too good to ignore!

How long till your Deafender arrives then Ken? Whistle

ooh, nice.

Did test drive Monday (addition to family, not replacement to Disco) but even with discounted price, its still a lot of wedge for a (admittedly iconic) lump of metal with a plastic interior and an aquired taste!

Unless you have money to burn then getting a quote from Ken is a must, he can get them to you by courier and even after fitting his price still knocks spots of anyone else. I had ATRs from him a little while ago, wear rate seems ok, noise and comfort don't seem any different to zeros, however I don't find that they feel quite as secure as the zeros when you start pushing it on the road, or is that just me?
