I was so nearly going to Hogmoor, I would have been stunned to get there and find that it was a recruitment / unveiling event for a new site but organised through the original one. I think actually stunned would have been the wrong word Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:
"What is the first rule when overlanding?"

course it will, but it will cost ya..............................but its ALL FREE here.
So you have never given a donation to this site then Jason? That is shameful. Little difference between a membership fee and a donation, it's all just money by different means.... I intend to to enjoy both. You will never beat this site as a forum with it's 10,000 users, and hopefully some good events, trips & family days on the other. For £60 a year between them, or a £1 a week I am very happy.
Why does it bother you so much? . Enjoy 1, the other or both, lifes to short to get uptight about bloody internet forums!!
Have a good weekend in the sun Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

I have donated to this site Richard for services and the use of the forum.., if I make a gain through Martins site its only fair and decent to return a little something for the use.
I would'nt have a problem with spending £30 to the CLUB, but standing outside the BRETHERIN, and circle of trust the volcanic ash does'nt taint my vision. To me, and my opinion only has been brewing since a banishment. I strikes me as a form of a internet tantrum, and if people cannot get their own way they try to emulate themselves to get their own way by owning their own Club.
Theres room for two Discovery 3 sites, but am happy where I am, and probably the CLUB is happy I am here.
Its my hard earned cash, and would rather not give it to a handful of chosen celebrities that have been cherry picked already, and for your intrusion on where I spend my money I thank you.

I did not doubt for a moment that you did not contribute to this site, that was my point, nothing in life is free, that's all I was saying. And sadly we don't always pay with money. Unless Moron Brown gets back in we can all spend our money as we wish.
I am not trying to be controversial. Enough said... Night.Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

And the 'Club' has its own forum FFS... whats the point. ALL the worlds best D3/D4 and related knowledge (outside of JLR) is here And 'here' doesn't charge you £30 to join up.
Interesting list of members though I suppose considering the nature of its creation and recent hissy fits.

A bit unnecessary.

I think that the guy ropes on that tent will be cut soon, Lex. Let's hope that it is full when that happens.

is it REALLY a problem to be a member of a club AND this forum??
if so just say ..... really didnt think there would be this animosity
if it is then it really does spell it out why there may be the need for an alternative place to go....
going on the first 6 pages of this thread it is plainly obvious why there is now another discovery 3/4 internet venue....
and you ask what the need is? it seems at the moment that if you dont fit into a certain little box then you are heckled/ chastised until you just disappear....
if you disagree then i point you toward the discotres threads as well as others..
FFS i made a comment earlier and am now being pointed toward the libdem joining page,,,, you REALLY need to look at the way you are acting towards members on here and ask why others have fealt the need to go and do something else,,, and something DIFFERENT...one wife.......livid
