LR have been aware of the problem for a long time but have failed to issue a recall. They finally did but restricted the range despite being aware other earlier builds were having the same issue.
They are lucky there have not been any more serious consequences. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Mine is going in tomorrow for three recalls since i bought it in Feb. Looks like this one, the hp fuel pump and the suspension sensors.
It's my08, so maybe LR have extended the recalls.

Any issues with this then tell DOTARS; this guy is aware of the issue: Ross Pettersson
Email him the details of the incident.

I have noticed the dreaded increased pedal pressure on my 07 TDV6, and this is with both recalls supposedly done. Had a very scary moment at <10K's an hour, down a steep drive, where I couldn't stop the car(had to flick it in to neutral and engage the EPB).
I have done 60,000K and will be going back to Landrover in the new year with the symptoms....
Anyone else in a similar situation?

Maybe they didn't check the booster for oil and change the servo? The oil will eventually affect the seals. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Need to check my paperwork as all the recalls they seem to do are 2005 onwards what about 54 plates or would that come under the 2005

Hi,
mine is an August 2004 TDV6 one.
Last Tuesday, during the Service, they applied the recall for free (of course ).
I got no communication by mail, etc... (I bought it as a used car). So, I thought it would be important letting the people know about it through this forum...
Cheers,
David.

I also hot my letter today for an 04 very early vin car my wife drives. Booked in on the 7th Jan for the bits while I visit London to see the new RR Evoque be uncovered for the first time kn the UK.
I was surprised to get the letter, I thought they had done all the cars affected by now.

Gents , does anyone know what this recall is about - just saw it on the VOSA website , rang my dealer since my VIN is right in the middle of the range - they checked and said my Disco was upto date with all recalls ?
from the VOSA website below :
The front pump bearing on some aftermarket replacement High Pressure Fuel Pumps may fail due to lack of sufficient lubrication. This will cause failure of the shaft seal, which will cause a fuel leak and if not rectified, could cause a vehicle fire.
Remedial Action : Recall affected vehicles and replace fuel pump with the latest specification pump.

After a 2nd heart stopping moment I can state that it is not the booster but the sticking non-return valve... I will be calling LR tomorrow.
