Woohoo I'm now finished too! For anyone who has a MY2010 car which is not pre wired, here's some points to get you through:

- Take a +ve feed to the camera from the rear 12v socket in the boot. This is switched with the ignition which is what you want.
- Buy a 5m RG174 cable with a male fakra connector on one end off eBay (circa £10). Clip the fakra into the new wiring loom you buy from Landrover in the rear head lining and run the cable along the passenger side headlining to the front A pillar, pop the A pillar trim off (one torx screw) and down the pillar and behind the dash.
- Solder 2x Maplin connectors onto the cable at the dash end as previously discussed in this thread and attach to pins 2 and 5 in the bank of the nav unit. Pin 2 is earth and Pin 5 is video!

Job done!

Ps, a fishing rod or set of cable rods is handy for feeding the cable along the headlining without the need to remove it!!

Rob, job well done. Thumbs Up

Triumph Dave

When you engage reverse does the screen go black as if the screen has changed looking for the camera?
If it does it means the update has worked and it leaves you checking the connections. If not try deactivating and reactivating on the faultmate.
Checked the Fakra connections. I had to reseat the one below the gear knob area before it worked. Think thru how you installed it and see if you remember putting all the loom fixings on. Does everything else work? Rear number plate lights, heated rear window etc.
Presume you used the correct port on back of sat nav....I am not trying to teach you to suck eggs just trying to go thru the things I thought of when I got the blank screen but no image.

Keep us updated.

Hi stenh02, I do not get a blank screen when selectting reverse. I connected to the screens purple Fakra connector on the far passanger side of the screen.. Maybe it should have gone to the screens brown Fakra connector???.

Triumph_Dave,

If you are not getting a black screen (not the pic of the car) when you select reverse it doesn't sound that the camera has been activated properly. If the pic of car still there - camera not activated properly.

I activated the camera before I started and when I put it in reverse it goes blank/black but if you touch the screen you can get the pic if the car up again but shows a soft button bottom left to return to rear camera.

Maybe hook the Faultmate up again and check settings. Maybe disabling and reenabling may help.

I have the IIDTool and only had to change one setting (EDIT. Two settings see post below) in the Body Control Module to activate it.

The Fakra sounds the right one on the back of the nav. I am pretty sure it will be the settings or failed CCF write. Presume the Faultmate firmware is upto date.

Let us know

G

There are two settings to change.

Park assist camera
And
Parking camera

Check you have activated both with the Faultmate.

Hi Stenho2.. I have only turned on the "Parking Camera Fitment " in the Infotainment section of the CCF files. using the faultmate through the Body Control section access to the CCF file. I can not see another item mentioning " Park assist camera " in the CCF areas.

I do have a section called Park aid Display in the warnings and messages area, this is presently "none" and gives a choice of AA: Undefined BB: None CC: Basic display DD: Graphic display.
There is also in this area "reverse warning display in instrument pack" which has a choice of inactive or active.

In the Miscellaneous area, there is Park distance control. My setting is both..

Apart from the above, I can see no other settings for a rear camera..

FYI. When I changed the CCF I changed the alarm to chirp on lock/unlock as a test and this is is working fine.. so I think my changes to the CCF are ok..

FYI. When I select reverse, all i see in the screen is the parking aid graphic display showing front and rear sensors. Which is exactly as it was.

Any ideas appreciated....

Dave,

It must be something simple not activated. Maybe worth checking with BBS what they think should be activated to get the camera working or PM Wiggs/Flack - who have activated cameras with their Faultmates. It does sound like the camera is not getting switched. Even if the cables were all wrong the display should flick to a blank/black screen.

Is the Reverse Warning Display set to inactive? Maybe worth a try at active.

Danger is right. The screen TriumphDave has is the usual reverse screen when you select reverse.

The screen can be toggled from the camera to the one above by touching it. And get back to rear camera with soft button bottom left.

As I said above I activated my camera before doing any of the install and all I got was a black screen but you could toggle it by touching the screen and getting to the screen shown above.

I think it must be an activation problem.

Andrew has been in touch with Triumph and hopefully it can get sorted easily.

I think my dads My13 xs (no camera) gets that screen when reverse is selected

Is there a menu on the for warning alerts using the steering wheel control on the right? I seem to think I saw something when messing

Fixed it.... Rolling with laughter Rear Camera now working, it was a very basic error. I did not realise there are two settings to activate the parking rear camera needed in the MY12 car!!, there is a setting in the main CCF File and there is also a setting in the EUCD CCF file. In fact, its exactly the same requirement to activate the timed climate etc... I had only activated the main CCF file.. Grant thought that the activation was the issue, as I was not seeing a secondary button in the graphic display when reverse was selected.. In addition, when he used his IIDtool it also required two settings to be changed..

Anyway, a huge thank you to Grant, Andrew, Adrian and everyone else that gave me useful ideas and suggestions to check.. What a great forum... Bow down

Thanks again..

I should go semi silent on the forum now, as I have to head back to my ship for 5 weeks this weekend and do some work!! I still have internet access though!!.
