from one of Wiggs' previous posts, it looks like pins 2 and 5 are for the reverse cam, while pins 1 & 4, and 3 & 6 can be used for other cams.
I have just been to the sound shop and they will see what can be done. They will test first to see if it works, and then install.
I will document, with photos to help others--

Great thread and love the detail and desperate to have a go
Does any one know if:
I can add a rear view parking camera to a Disco 4 SE Tech MY2016 ?
If yes then how do I find out the part numbers to order ?
I tried an independent dealer and whilst helpful they were no able to supply the relevant part numbers. I took the numbers from this thread but was told they were for older MY and may be different for MY16
Thanks in advance

Yes you can, I've done quite a few, both aftermarket camera (better quality and significantly cheaper) as well as LR ones. I'll dig the part numbers out when I get a few mins. Bodsys Brake Bible

Interested in this too - would really like to know what the part number is for the LR genuine rear camera for MY14 onwards...
Thanks,

You need
Tailgate microswitch with camera wiring - LR021100 Around £50ish
Analogue camera LR023365 supersedes to LR043493 around £200ish
Additional tailgate wiring loom LR015458 *superseded to LR071911 £around £60ish
I'll repeat, that the genuine camera quality of image is really not very good, the aftermarket (ccd) cameras are far better image quality.

Thanks for that. I've actually (retro)fitted LR043493 to my MY14 D4 but still haven't worked out if I can / how to get the yellow lines to 'bend' with steering input. I also don't have the option to access the camera via the menus, but only displays when reverse is selected (or Neutral and then camera chosen from menu)...
I have wondered if the bending lines required a camera with CAN bus output...
Since the original installation I have had a software update to fix the overexposure issue, which also changed the menu options on the head unit. The CCF settings I had to make (posted in this thread previously) were not quite in line with other MY14's I compared to but I thought that may have been because of the software version difference in the touchscreen head unit.
The WSM states:
Rear View Camera
The RVC (rear view camera) receives power at all times when the ignition is on or the engine is running. When R is selected, the rear view camera receives a reverse gear selected signal from the TCM via the HS (high speed) CAN bus. The camera then sends a MS (medium speed) CAN message to the TS (touch screen) to display the image.
I might try the CCF settings again to see if I can get the lines to bend but any thoughts most welcome.

One other item that may be of interest too. The tailgate loom LR015458 was superseded to LR071911 because of cable corrosion issues. Topix reference SSM72233

One more addition to this. Using VIN for an MY14 fitted with the factory reversing camera, I checked the camera part number. Some time early in the life of MY14 D4's, the camera has changed from LR023365 (superseded by LR043493) to LR051728- which I assume is the CAN bus connected version... I haven't been able to verify this or find a picture yet.

Simply put, I always believed the bendy lines were only available if you had surround cameras, therefore a Cambus issue, but possibly additional hardware required too.
Personally I like the straight lines better than the bendy ones and it's the bendy ones I've got.

I thought that too but have checked and MY14 D4's with reverse camera only (no surround camera system) have bendy lines. I had initially thought that the bending of the lines was based on steering input via CANBUS but haven't verified that. I do have a couple more options to try in the CCF configuration now that the head unit software has been updated but not sure how much luck I'll have with that.
If / when I get around to experimenting with it I'll post up the results.
I am happy with my straight lines though...

So I am a noobie and have 2011 XS, how can I tell what connectors I have on the back of my head unit without taking it apart? I would like to fit a camera as easily as possible and know that I have the Fakra and power cables in the roof lining by the tailgate.
If I go for a aftermarket number plate camera (as Bodsy says the image is better) I assume that I could still fit that to the LR Fakra but using a conversion cable and the same for the power. I don't have the ability to switch things on though in the software.
Thanks
