Pictures of another one I did belts on yesterday. The crack is starting to show on the outside of the casing, so looks like it is on its last legs. And this was not an EU4 engine
Will be going back very shortly to replace that pump too. Right after I have done my own

So, are we now suggesting that oil pumps should be changed on earlier D3s as well?
Only had my belts changed on Friday 2021 BMW iX3 Premier Edition in Carbon Black ⚡️🔌
2019 Škoda Kodiaq 2.0 Tdi 190 DSG Sportline in Quartz Grey. Excellent vehicle. Gone.
2017 Discovery Sport HSE Auto in Carpathian Grey and Ebony Leather. Modern JLR Junk. Gone.
2007 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Manual in Zermatt Silver with Ebony Cloth (143k) Gone, but now patrolling the Asia section of the West Midlands Safari Park!
Or are we suggesting that the oil pump should be changed on ALL Discovery 3 engines when they have the belt change?

I'm in how do I submit my donation? I had a look through the thread and mentioned a PayPal portal but couldn't find it.

You can do it from the app on the I-Phone or from the web, essentially the same.

Thanks for the heads up on this issue. Only coming across this post now as I don't have a lot of time to spend on the forum so I am grateful for the interest you all have. Glad to add my support.
I also note a number of people who have signed up don't appear to have paid - even though in some cases months have passed since they committed?
Regards and thanks for all your efforts in this cause.

Another Engine Ruined!
My D3 has just died from the same problem. 07 plate, 127k on clock, cam belt change done 15k miles ago at Stratstone, Stoke on Trent. Full dealer service history. LR have agreed to pay 50% towards the bill of £10k.
I spoke to the PA for Jeremy Hicks (LR UK Managing Director) today who refused to increase their offer. She is looking into trying to reduce labour costs at Stratstone. However, she still refused to accept that it is a common fault. She said the superseded parts are down to continual improvement! She must think I was born yesterday.
I will keep you informed on updates.
Bodsy - I read about your experience with this same problem and understand you received a foc engine replacement with a vehicle on similar mileage. I mentioned this to the PA and she asked for your reg to look on the LR system to see why you received a better offer than me. Are you able to provide any help with this?
I am not mechanically minded, I just love LR's. Although my love is being tried at the moment!!!
