At least we can FINALLY! tell, from twistedmr666's, photos that this its a conventional tailgate, with no horizontal split. Thanks for posting the photos 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

But no break in the cammo white stick on stuff. Unless they are just not using the tailgate, which i'd have thought unlikely.
If it's the break in cammo below the lights level there's no break in the number plate area.

That's because I'm guessing the number plate will probably come down with the lower half.... So in other words the "line" will rise up again for the mid section before dropping below the lights once more, if you see what I mean.
I do hope it is not a FFRR computer screen for the dashboard, prefer traditional instruments, all the more to go wrong as my father keeps saying about modern cars!2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

Still can't tell IMO, and I don't think we will be able to until all is revealed.
If there is a split it would not be above the lights as the lower section would be too big (unless..see below) - an external split is likely to be relatively low with significant overlap as per the L405.
Just to throw a googly out there - how about two splits? Keep thinking about it... Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Well, just a thought, but what about a horizontal split, and a vertical split in the lower half, with the activity platform extending out beneath.
If the split were very well disguised, then the rest of the shape could accomodate it. It would give purpose to the offset numberplate and perhaps the dip on either side of the bottom could be hinge related?
There'd be no issues reaching the front of the boot, there'd be a barrier for doggies, there'd be somewhere to stand for roof access, it would maximise the height available in the boot, it'd need less roof clearance for multi-storey car parks, it'd reduce the effort needed to open with the inevitable electric motors, and it could even provide arm rests and cup holders when sitting on the platform. 8)
I think it'd be a great idea but it's just a wild stab in the dark.
On another note - what is that double spoiler about? Could it be that the upper tailgate moves outwards to square-off the shape when needed? That could be what we're all hoping for. The DS has a "double" spoiler! Your reading far too much into it.
Is this what you mean about a vertical split? Think it's already been done.
What does it matter how much one reads into it? It's just a bit of fun. No reason the DS spoiler must be a precursor.
Yes, and just about every van on the road - but I'm thinking horizontal and vertical (in the lower part). As I say, just throwing ideas out there, but I think it would be a nice solution and I'm struggling to think of a significant downside, so why not? Inside looks ok I quite like the range rover interior still can't tell on the tailgate if it does split i think its higher on one side to the other. This angle seems to show something a bit promising with the joint inline with bottom of the light?
