My disco assembled October 2015, (MY2016).
New temp sensor fitted, still reads +3 too high.
Also had a sofware update done for the lack of heat from the air con. That has now given us heat, which I hope has fixed that problem.
Sorry I cannot quote any reference number for the HEVAC update.

Well, mine has spent the day at Carrs Landrover, who are dutifully following Landrover's instructions & replaced the sensor. They are keeping it overnight, to be able to get an accurate comparison to other vehicles (another new one) in the morning.
I suspect the answer will be that it's showing the same as the other one
I'll update the outcome on Saturday.
Isn't it amazing how such a small change ( 3 deg error in the way in which the software reads the signal from the sensor) can so dramatically affect the way the Hevac system operates.Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Well, mine has been in twice for this problem, and at least five days with Yeovil LR.
The sensor has been replaced, without resolving the issue. YLR agree it is off, and it also compares with other 2016 D4s they had knocking around to check against.
The Hybrid RR Sport that I had for a week was able to tell the temperature perfectly!
LR Tech were involved, so are certainly aware. I have tried, without much success, to get some traction with LRCS, and will now elevate within LR.
The readings below were taken during the recent period of very steady mild weather, just after sunrise on a heavily clouded day. Outside temperature is showing 15.5 C, the Evaporator reading of 12 C would tally with a car that has sat stationery, without the engine running, for many hours, meaning it should be close to the actual outside temperature. Interior temperature is probably slightly raised as a result of some solar activity, but in an uninsulated metal box, ought to be close to the outside temperature, not 1.5 C below the displayed ambient.

This is clearly not a sensor issue - unless there are a whole bunch of duds out there - and would appear to be more likely software related. Given the real difference in the MY16 vehicles is the Euro 6 compliance, the cynic in me wonders whether this is an unfortunate by product of a software emission strategy...

Well after keeping a close a eye on the readings today it is clear that changing of the front sensor had no effect as the display is still showing 3 degrees more than true.
The dealer Guy Salmon of Stockport are now submitting a report direct to LR along with copies of the history of the readings etc and with a request for assistance from LR.
If everyone is prepared to provide the name of their dealer we could perhaps pass this on to our own dealers for them to include in the reports for their own car and strengthen your case.
Can we all make calls to LR customer service as Rusty Rabbit has done on 0370 5000 500, we can also mention that we aware of other cars at these dealerships and bring an end to the comment from both LR and the dealer that no one else has complained.
So, if you are in agreement, please post back the dealership name/location.
None of us need to disclose to each other our individual car details so privacy remains intact.
We could be looking at £500,000 worth of cars just from those few of us who have made comment on the forum already and its a sum LR perhaps need reminding of in the call to customer service.
If anyone has any further ideas then please add them but do hope you will post your dealer details and make that call - perhaps trying to contact "Ryan" who Rusty Rabbit made contact with.

I'll give my dealer a call tomorrow, they have a 10 plate and a 65 plate sitting outside and ask them to compare the temperatures. Or even better I'll pop in and ask them to do it in my company.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Sadly not! Just been a tad busy doing things to keep the lights on, save the planet and foil the Russians' plans to starve us all of gas...

Thanks, Rich! This temperature thing has wound me up, so I thought I should come out of hibernation
