Welcome back Winger Thumbs Up

Not yey had chance to take the car in, but the service manager at Shukers in Ludlow has been made aware of the problem (and this thread) and I'll be taking the D4 over there before end of the month.

LR customer services have informed me that the heating IS directly effected by outside temp gauge, therefore, if gauge is reading high, then heating will not be blowing as hot as it should.
Car is going in to have gauge changed, but reading this thread, it seems as though people have had this done, but the gauge still reads high, therefore heating will still not work.
Also, they once again said this issue has not been raised by anyone else, and that if my car is like other new cars, then it is not a fault, it is correct and that ALL new cars will perform in that way.
Basically, I think they are saying that is how the "new" model is now designed.

quick69 -- I think those who have already had work done have had the sensor behind the front bumper replaced - are LR now suggesting the dashboard display unit is at fault?

I can't fault the heating on my one. Perhaps mine is ok.

I'll need to check mine. It said 7 degrees on Sunday night but it felt a dam site colder than that.

J77 - Although your heater is ok, is your outside temperature display accurate or do you have the 3 degree problem too?

So I have just had this spectacular response from LRCS:

I can confirm that Service Advisor, Douglas Jenkin at Yeovil Land Rover has advised me that they have replaced the Temperature sensor as well as compared your vehicle with three other vehicles. Following this they have also been in contact with Land Rover Technical who have advised that your vehicle is operating to design intent.

I can advise that there are three measurements that calculate the ambient temperature, these being the front sensor behind the bumper, the sun spot sensor located on the dashboard and the intake air temperature to the engine, This information is then displayed on the dashboard.

Please note that there are a number of variable factors to take into consideration which could consequently effect the temperature calculated by the vehicle, such as engine temperature, the speed of the vehicle/ wind speed.

I appreciate this may not have been the response you were hoping for however on this occasion I would be unable to provide any further assistance regarding the concern you have experienced with your vehicle.

As mentioned elsewhere in this thread, I cannot understand how they can honestly say that no one else is mentioning this, when it is clear that a number of enquiries have been made by dealers to LR directly on this.

The facts are very clear in my analysis. The car was not moving; there was no sun (it hadn't risen); the outside temperature in the real world, not LRs, was between 12.6-12.9 C for a period of almost 16 hours prior to checking the system outputs - yet the car was still insisting that it was 16 C outside, well actually 15.5 C, but they don't seem to go in for a decimal place.

Time to up the anti on this, as LRCS have totally infuriated me.
