Hi John, welcome back from hibernation!
Was it the indicated higher temps that woke you up?
I can't believe that LR could deny all this! You would think that they would want us all to believe the world is getting cooler, not warmer!

I was typing this as Winger’s post came in!
Seems we are all getting told that we have the only car with a problem but there are already 20 of us on here who have an issue with the outside temperature display – which may off course lead to ineffective heating/ventilating/frost display/fbh/stop start etc. Regardless of these extra possible issues the display is wrong.
I am putting a list together now and hope to be able to post it on this thread this afternoon/evening, so we can establish which dealers have been approached and this information can be included when a call is made to either your own dealer or LR customer service.
If you have not yet made a comment as to which dealer you have reported this too (or who the dealer will be once reported) can you do so as soon as possible please so the list can be as accurate as possible. Your personal identity will remain private (I don’t have it anyway!) as there will be nothing showing other than your forum name and dealer/location.
Winger - can you get the contact details for the person who responded from LR - should we all make this person the point of contact ?

J77 - Although your heater is ok, is your outside temperature display accurate or do you have the 3 degree problem too?
Ok just checked the Disco against my brothers van, both haven't moved, both covered in frost, both in the same street. His van is reading 0 and my Disco is reading 4 (no frost warning), though it isn't scientific I wouldn't have expected that big a difference between the two. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Oh dear - shall I add you to the list?
If so, which dealer/location will it be?

Hannah.
No - I think that we get as much information as we can together and then we fire off a strong message to someone a little higher up the LR food chain.
The better "weapon" is via dealers, who are made aware that the problem is far from unique (note that Yeovil LR confirmed that all the MY D4s they checked show the "wrong" temperature!), and then a series of direct letters to LR, which we can co-ordinate.
J77's observation is the same as mine earlier today - ice on windscreen, 1.5 C on the VW Golf and 5 C on the D4, with no frost warning.

Yes agree with your thoughts - will get this list of dealers together but it will be this evening now and then at least we know who has been approached and have a tidy list to view.

Might be an idea to invite Hannah to join the forum now that Pete has moved on in JLR LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

All who have the issue, make sure dealer records it in the system to LR, an automatic investigation should be triggered once a certain number of the same faults are recorded, then the time is ticking to find a solution which is tracked in the internal tracking system.

with ref to Wingers post 8/1/16 12.37.
I see that speed affects things.
For what its worth, in addition to my +3 too high reading, and lack off heat from heater, I note that my speedo is reading +4 KILOMETRES too high across the whole speed range.
ie- true speed 20km....indicated 24km
true speed 70km....indicated 74km
true speed 90km....indicated 94km.
