It's an emissions cheat device, as it only affects the latest models which have to meet tougher emission standards and LR are being rather tight lipped.

There I've said it. You guys fancy being my legal team when LRs lawyers get a hold of me Laughing

To bring up to date.

Mine is now booked in for Monday to have the display compared on another 16MY and a 15MY all in the same location and photo's passed to LR.

If any one is in Stockport on Monday you could have yours photographed too Thumbs Up

But why display the outside temperature to be 3 degrees higher - just as easy to put some device before the display to make it show the correct figure regadless of any other cheat device which may be fitted Thumbs Up

Because we buy LRs and are not supposed to be intelligent enough to notice these things. Laughing

Ive got an my16 booked in for this problem I've just blipped my remote park heat and got in 15 mins later to find even though it's set to 23 degrees and auto on the aircon cool air is coming out of the vents. It's 5 degrees according to the SEAT next to me but my dash says it's a toasty 8. Wonder if somehow the faulty temp reading is playing a part with that too.

I've got surround cameras I paid for which are worse than the standard ones.
DEF fault (intermittent) but my car is not in software update vin range.
Remote park heat option I paid for which doesn't seem to heat.
Glued on front trim.
And the list goes on!

At what stage do we notify the motoring press or Watchdog of this thread?

Telephone number

Vehicle registration

Relevant Land Rover retailer

In order for me to investigate the reported concerns further, I would require each vehicle visiting your local Land Rover retailer. At this point, your retailer can diagnose any potential concern and report this to our technical team.

As I hope that you can all appreciate, this is a process that needs to be followed for any concern to be reported, quantified and investigated in an official manner. Additionally, should our retailers determine that a fault is present with your vehicle following their diagnosis and they require additional assistance, they will be able to contact Land Rover Technical for support.

Should anyone require additional support, please PM me with the required information and I will be happy to assist.

Many thanks

Ryan

Ryan

I have sent you a pm with all the requested information. Thumbs Up

Again, and especially in view of the cold weather forecast, can I ask if LR will be making all 16MY owners aware that the outdoor temperature display is failing to activate the frost/ice warning at the correct outside temperature.

The Met office report of actual temperature in my locality is as at 12 noon today 4.6 degrees. My car is now showing 8 degrees.

Ryan

I have sent you a PM as requested.

All

I'm also getting some other strange things happening, like both heated screens coming on at start up when the switches have not been pressed and the auto headlights coming on in bright daylight! Is anyone else getting this type of occurrence?
I'm to old to know everything......

Screen heaters are normal, they do come on by themselves at below 4 degrees ISTR. Headlamps will come on in a low sun.

I don't know if this helps or not, but the temp gauge on my 3 week old rr sport hse seems to be spot on. I thought it had the same engine as disco. so if they can get it right on one why not on the other?

Screens will heat if the outside temperature is low enough. Activation is driven by outside temperature. They also come on automatically if you select max defrost
