Indeed. The whole saga is rather like philosophy - a route of many roads leading from nowhere to nothing!

well mine is in today to see if they can sort the temp sensor out, not holding my breath they are now aware of the other 30 odd D4's with the same issue so no doubt will be talking with the LR Techs, i also made them aware i have raised it via email with customer services, so will just await the outcome, as it happems the loan D4 also has the issue so that will be a shock to them when i take it back Tintenter

Mine also in today.
When I took it in it was showing 7 degrees.
The loan car which is a 15MY is showing 4 degrees.
So with imput from "Ryan" at LRCS and the information given by DaveT in respect of Carrs of Truro lets hope we get this resolved soon

Hi all
Thank you to all of those who have raised the concern both to myself as well as our technical team via our Land Rover approved retailers.
Following the information collected and investigations that have taken place, we have identified a concern and a software fix is in the process of being developed to address this. Our retailer network will shortly be advised that a fix is in the process of being produced, however at the current time I would be unable to provide an ETA for the fix.
I would be happy to monitor the situation and will update this thread once the fix has been released and I will shortly reply to each of you that I have been in contact with directly.
Please be assured that this individual ambient temperature gauge does not affect the routine functioning of your vehicle, however we will be looking to resolve this in due course.
Regards
Ryan

Thank you for this information.
You say the "ambient temperature gauge does not affect the routine functioning of your vehicle"
However, there are owners unaware of this issue who may well be driving and oblivious to the fact the frost/ice warning is not operating correctly.
What is LR doing to notify them of this safety issue ?

and its not just an ambient temp issue, its a cabin temp issue, as the internal controls need to be set 2 or 3 degrees higher than my old MY12 D4 to get heat in the cabin, so there is something amiss in general with the latest D4's

It would be better to acknowledge that LR's customers identified the concern - LR have repeatedly denied that there is an issue
Quote:...a software fix is in the process of being developed to address this
So, the statement, repeated by LRCS several times, that my vehicle was operating to design intent was clearly a wild assumption
Quote:Please be assured that this individual ambient temperature gauge does not affect the routine functioning of your vehicle
This statement is grossly inaccurate, and dangerously misleading. I would encourage you to edit you post as a matter of urgency to correct this assertion

I have just picked mine up and can confirm they have accepted it as an issue and i now have a TR number to prove it is registered as an issue with LR via the dealer , i now awaited the fix be it a new version of the sensor or a software patch (breath not holding) Tintenter

OK, LR now acknowledge there is a fault and that they aren't and shouldn't be "designed to over read"
Any how, should I still take my car into the Dealer and have them replace my temperature sensor as scheduled for the 28th?
Seems a waste of my time and my dealers time replacing sensor that will need a software update anyway. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green
