Please be assured that this individual ambient temperature gauge does not affect the routine functioning of your vehicle, however we will be looking to resolve this in due course.

In fact, come to think of it, Ryan, if you are so convinced it doesn't affect anything bloody well come and suffer mine for a day.

Our's hopefully going in to Shukers on the 5th Feb. to get the various faults confirmed and logged with LRCS.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

You could swap yours for mine, I could suffer the annoying +3c over read.

Del, it's roughly the same as sitting on top of your wheelie bin ... the heater don't do a lot!Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Ryan this isn't really a satisfactory response. Cars designed for use in adverse weather and fitted with features that cost a lot of discretionary income to a) keep us comfortable but b) more importantly keep us safe should work as promised. Whilst the comfort element is unlikely to be a show stopper the safety element i.e. the ice warnings, the auto windscreen heating etc are safety issues.
Can LR categorically state that the temperature misread also has no impact on fuel injection issues and other working aspects of the car ?
Dealers have been fobbing us, the customers off when we have been raising these issues and you, LR should be contacting owners of 2016 vehicles to alert them that the sensors in the car may lead to a false sense of security and they may not take appropriate steps to adjust their driving eg for ice and hence come to harm based on the data your flawed systems advise them of.
It may be useful to review the way LR is dealing with this as this head in the sand approach risks alienating existing customers who were most likely to be loyal future customers. A best practice example would be how BMW managed an issue 2 years ago with a faulty suspension part on a motorcycle and through good customer service retained rather than alienated affected customers.

This last week has been pretty cold here, but my heating is roasting and my heated windscreen auto function has been coming as it should, though my car over reads.
Can the cold heating be a separate issue? To add to the 16MY owners list of faults.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

What did your display show when your auto heated screen came on.
Which number did you have the heater set on as we all have different opinions as to what is warm or hot.

3 with frost warning which stayed on up to 5 degrees then went off at 6 temperature immediately dropped back down to 5 with no frost warning.
Normally set to 24 then down to 22 or sometimes 20, if I drive to work which takes 5 mins the cars luke warm when I get there.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green
I too think it may be a separate issue, but one that gets exacerbated by the +3 degree ambient reading. Hence I've listed it as separate items for the dealer to investigate and report back on.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Hi There , here's another one for the list , mine's going in next monday for the dreaded temp fault.
Taking it to Stratstone's @ Doncaster , they say that they have'nt heard of this fault before , but it wont affect the car in any way , so will have to wait 7 see what the outcome is.
Cheers D

I hit black ice in my car Friday, luckily i was going slow, guess what, yep no warning triangle on the screen and temp shown 6 degrees. bloody good job i was going slow otherwise I could of been in big trouble.
Do I still take my car in Thursday? Do the dealers definitely know of the fix now?

Well checked mine at the weekend, the temp is wrong, but not by 3 Deg C, it is around 1.5 Deg C different to my Merc.
However, the heating in the vehicle is not working correctly, I need to set at 26 deg C plus to get the vehicle to a comfortable temperature.
The vehicle is at Sturgess next week and they are aware of the issue.
