Thank you for your posts.
I note the comments made and can advise that the relevant software fix was released this week to our retailer network within the latest software patch, however I have been made aware today that there have been some unexpected concerns.
This is being investigated further and unfortunately there will be a delay on the updated patch being released and applied to affected vehicles.
May I apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused and be assured that I will continue to monitor the situation moving forward.
Regards
Ryan

Can you not tell us what these "concerns" are please.

Hi BBDisco3
Thank you for your post.
I note your comments and can only advise that it has been determined that further investigation is required in relation to the fix as this has not resolved the concern in some cases.
I am unable to provide further information regarding this matter at the current time, however as previously advised, I will continue to monitor the situation and update this thread as soon as the relevant updated fix is made available.
Regards
Ryan

Well as you now may know, our vehicle went to our LR dealer today for the 'fix' or 'whatever', but it did not work.
A waste of our time. The dealer wan't surprised and apologised for the inconvenience. At least it will save other people the time and trouble...
What I can't really get my head around; the D4 is now in the twilight of its life and there is a problem with the ambiant temperature on the MY16's
What are the changes to this vehicle which would cause this?
Concerned customer. Communication is the breakfast of champions...

By inference, are you saying that it has resolved the concern (ie issue) in some cases Ryan? Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE
Previously:

The only significant difference between 2016 and previous models is the addition of Ad Blue

Ad blue and the emissions were the major changes. I guess they need to be very carful with software patches to do with emissions! MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten
MY12 HSE - Gone
MY16 HSE Luxury - Sold
MY20 D5 HSE - Sold
Current RR L460 PHEV

Pete@LandRover / LRCS / Ryan,
Can you please confirm:
Has the 'patch' been applied to vehicles now being produced - from what VIN?
Or are the current vehicle owners being used as testers first?
Are there any unaffected 16MY vehicles?
What does the update actually change, and why?
Please confirm categorically that the issue is in no way connected to, affected by, or having an effect upon vehicle emissions.
Thank you. Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Good questions but I doubt you will get any sensible response. LR attitude to this major issue is laughable.
I would like to see Ryan's job description. Either he is not following it or it is badly conceived. Volvo XC60 - does all that the D4 should have done
Discovery HSE MY16 (good apart from the heating), now sold
Audi TT Roadster (wow)
MGB Roadster (owned since 1992)
Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE MY08
Saab 9-5 Aero 2002 (gone but not forgotten)

Well, the software update was applied to mine today, and the first thing I can confirm is that the display continues to show the 3 deg error.
I haven't driven far enough to detect any changes. Monday/tues will only be a couple of 20 mile trips, Weds will be a couple of hundred miles in currently forecast cold weather, so should reveal whether heating & ventilation actually operates any differently. is the dealer aware it still shows three degrees over Dave? This is very disappointing..... but, again, I'm not surprised ..... Until an official TSB is issued I suspect you are right about being a 'Guinea pig'? I still feel it's got more to do with emmisions than JLR have admitted to .... to date anyways.... 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

My D4 was one of the first 2016 MY deliveries in July 2015. It has always shown an ext air temp which is at least 3 deg too high. I shall ask Reading dealership to log this problem as in previous posts. Re the DEF potential link my car kept displaying "DEF of insufficient quality" warnings until LR Assistance installed a software patch back in Sepember 2015. This patch actually worked!

Dannyson, I haven't given feedback to Carrs yet, needed to drive it on a known route where I had observed it's previous behavior first, which I did yesterday.
Will hopefully get a chance to update them today.
To me it sounds like they thought the temperature patch was going to be in this release, but wasn't.
Perhaps this Thursday?? (my guess based on the fact that the whole world seems to have decided that Thursday is software update day).
As an aside ... since the update, I could swear the rear camera is higher resolution, but must just be my imagination & the fact that they washed it + the days are lighter. Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Has anyone had anything positive done to their cars yet? Has the heater issue been fixed? Do L/R agree there is an issue or do they still deny that the heating is sub standard?

Took my October purchased HSE to the dealer (Harwoods Pulborough)last week to address aircon temperature issues and over reading OAT guage as described above. Told that JLR were coming up with a fix but when was in question.
The dealer contacted me yesterday to tell me that JLR were expecting a service bulletin to be issued late March or early April to fix the problem.
Very good but it seems a bit of a delay to say the least!
