Yup I know, but I last looked at it "manually" on the 3rd after not getting updates, so had assumed notifications would kick in again, but they didn't. Not to worry. Up to speed now LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Hi all
Thank you for your posts.
I note your comments and can confirm as you are no doubt aware, that the relevant software fix has now been released to our retailer network.
Given that the earlier software update that was released was not successful in resolving the concern, I wanted to ensure that on this occasion, prior to advising on this thread, that the fix was successful to avoid any potential unnecessary inconvenience to you all. I hope that you can appreciate my reasons for this.
May I suggest that anybody who is experiencing this concern contact their local retailer to make the necessary arrangements to book your vehicle in for the fix/update to be applied.
Regards
Ryan

Noticed this on the 65 plate courtesy car that I have at the moment.
Looks like a good result

Ryan,
When is the fix going to be released? The latest update only corrects the dash display.Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Got in my car this morning, it was minus three on outside wall thermometer, car read 0. not only was the heater next to useless (the colder the outside temp, the worse the heater seems to be), but the auxilary heater that I had set to come on 20 mins before leaving had come on, but was blowing out cold air so everything was still frozen up.
I am at a complete loss as to what to do.The car has now been back on 6 occassions but still LR will not actually admit to there being a fault. They just say that it works within the parameters of design.

Hi Dave T
Thank you for your post.
I note your query and can confirm that the relevant software fix was released to address the reported concern, which was an inaccurate temperature reading on the instrument cluster of up to 4 degrees too high.
Should you have an additional concern with your vehicle, then I would suggest that your retailer be afforded the opportunity to investigate this so they may advise accordingly.
Regards
Ryan

Ryan,
Please stop being evasive. You are by now well aware that the issue affects more than just the displayed temperature.
I can confirm that the software update that you are referring to has corrected the dash display, but has done nothing to correct the incorrect functioning of the heating / AC / hevac system.
Would you please confirm when this will be addressed?

Pete@LandRover / LRCS / Ryan,
Can you please confirm:
Has the 'patch' been applied to vehicles now being produced - from what VIN?
Or are the current vehicle owners being used as testers first?
Are there any unaffected 16MY vehicles?
What does the update actually change, and why?
Please confirm categorically that the issue is in no way connected to, affected by, or having an effect upon vehicle emissions.
Thank you.

Chaps, I know how frustrating this is, but let's not make it personal and remember that Ryan and the Customer Relations team at LR, as well as other manufacturers have got to follow Company directives. So they can only say what they are allowed to.
Having had personal experience of similar work, I know Ryan will be in a difficult position, so please let's direct our comments/criticisms at Land Rover the company, not at the individuals who I'm sure are doing their best to help us, even if their rate of progress are frustrating at times.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Hi DaveT
Thank you for your post.
To clarify, the reported concern affecting a number of owners was an inaccurate temperature reading on the instrument cluster and the recently released fix relates to this concern and this concern only.
If your retailer have investigated your additional concern regarding the heating system of your vehicle, I would be more than happy to contact them to confirm their findings and assist as appropriate. Therefore, I would be grateful if you are able to provide me with the following information via PM:
Your full name
Telephone number
Email address
Vehicle registration
Full VIN/chassis number
Relevant Land Rover retailer
Regarding the software fix for the temperature sensor display concern, I can confirm that the chassis range of the potential affected vehicles is between 777507-813795. As such, any vehicles manufactured after 813795 have not been identified as being affected which also includes vehicles currently being produced.
I note your comments regarding tester vehicles and can confirm that we do not produce fixes to 'test' on customers vehicles. A concern has been reported and identified and we have taken the appropriate action to address and resolve the concern on the affected vehicles.
The update is intended to address a software error within the Powertrain Control Module which results in the inaccurate reading. A reconfiguration of the Powertrain Control Module is required to address the concern.
I note your comments regarding emissions and can confirm that the ambient temperature sensor display does not affect and is not connected in any way to vehicle emissions.
Regards
Ryan

MrH,
I'm not sure frustrated is the correct word, but it'll do for the moment
I'm merely being polite in addressing the post to Ryan, as the person who currently represents CRC, it's definitely not personal. Fully appreciate that "the company line" has to be obeyed, but at least some communication / acknowledgement would help.
Too often, we know far more than is acknowledged and conveyed by LR, and in this instance I know far more than I am communicating here. I know what my dealer is aware of, and I know (roughly) what they have communicated with LR.
I don't believe that Ryan / CRC / LR will be in the least bit upset by my words or tone, though perhaps I'm wrong, since they haven't accepted my offer of a day in my car + a free pasty. Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

If I put my old LR baseball cap on can I have your car for a day, with hopefully more than one pasty if they are as good as Stew's?
