As long as we don't get into partial differential equations, they were my downfall in 2nd year maths at Edinburgh Uni for a Geophysics degree.

To me that certainely proves that there is an issue. Perhaps a few more of you should post here is well, ( providing you have an eroneous reading of course). It's a good bet that someone at JLR reads these posts.

There is now another thread running with this issue of the temp reading three degrees higher than it should
it now seems that Landrover should be looking onto it and would hope that Ryan (pete@Landrover) would pick up on both of these threadsTintenter

At least with it over-reading you can just bung in a resistor to bring it to a correct value.
I already do this when testing things like the FBH system.

Thanks Tintender I see from the thread that Pete@Landrover (Ryan) is aware of this temperature situation but I was assured by my dealership service dept that after speaking to L R technical assistance my temp sensor being out was the first time they (Land Rover) had encountered this type of problem! I did explain to my dealership I found that fairly hard to believe given the amounts of comments on here! So maybe if someone from LR ....Pete or Ryan are reading these threads they could shed some light on this frustrating situation ??

Pete appears to have dealt with with an individual concern in that thread but nobody should assume that anyone from LRCS will read all or indeed any threads outside of their forum section.

This remains best way to get it dealt with and the more that do it the better.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Hi graemesmith
Thank you for your post.
I am sorry to learn of the concern you are experiencing with your vehicle so early in your ownership, please accept my apologies on behalf of Land Rover for any inconvenience and frustration that may have been caused.
Should you wish for me to look into this and contact your retailer to establish their findings, please make me aware and send me your details via PM and I will be happy to do so.
Klinkhammer - as I note that you are due to visit your retailer this week regarding your concern, I trust they will be able to investigate and report their findings. However, should you require additional assistance, please feel free to contact me directly and I will be happy to help.
Regards
Ryan
Hi Pete,
I am having exactly the same issue with my one month old Discovery.
The temp sensor over reads by almost exactly 4 degrees and the climate control inside blows arctic air all the time. As the weather is starting to get colder, this is becoming an issue.

I have exactly the same issues - and the 3 or 4 degree misread is annoying but most worryingly, I can't get the heater to blow warm air.
Even leaving it on 27 just blows cold air out.
Does everyone else have that same symptom as well?
Just wondering they are related/the same issue or not? On the other thread they seem to go hand in hand.
Does anyone on this thread have the temperature misread but their internal heater works fine?
I have emailed my dealer today and will hopefully get in there in the next 48 hours.

I have similar symptoms. My sensor over-reads by about 3deg and for some reason my fans blow cold air until the engine warms up then the car warms up. I would expect them not to blow anything until up to temperature really.
Now I've noticed it I'll investigate properly but it hasn't really been cold down here in the Solent yet for me really to notice. I'm not convinced the top fans actually blow hot air at all and maybe the heat just comes from below.
